About me

As an applied mathematician, I am interested in solving problems in research and development in academia and industry.

I enjoy working on questions raised by biomedicine, clinical research, epidemiology, health services and public health, where I integrate mathematical and statistical approaches to analyze data and develop methods. In particular, the challenge to seek absolutes and support recommendations in situations of complex causal relationships, as we can find them in cardiovascular epidemiology, for example, has kept me busy since working on my dissertation.

My aim is to contribute to an increased and accelerated knowledge transfer between science and industry. I have practical experience in information extraction from sensor nets in medical engineering (iNDTact GmbH) and apply statistical modeling in the context of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance in mechanical enineering in my role as a senior consultant for data science and software development at denkbares GMBH

Recent research topics:

  • statistical modeling, risk estimation, prediction and attribution, graphical models
  • mathematical modeling in biology
  • high performance computing to assess the performance of mathematical and statistical models in application

How can I help you?

During my eight years working in medical biostatistics/biometrics, I gained experience in advising and supporting clinical studies and enjoyed the close collaboration with the various disciplines and the diverse issues in clinical research. As long as my schedule allows it, I am happy to support you with consulting, supervision or practical support for study planning (observational & interventional), ethics applications, sample size calculation, data analysis and interpretation.

You are most welcome to contact me in case you have a mathematical or statistical issue that you would like to discuss!
