Information about the M.Sc. Mathematics program

The mathematics program in Greifswald is characterized by excellent, personalized support and small study groups, and offers a wide range of elective and specialization options.

In the Master’s program, you take modules from four areas:

• Algebra, Geometry, and Topology

• Discrete Mathematics

• Computer Science, Numerical Mathematics, and Optimization

• Mathematical Modeling, Statistics, and Stochastics

You are free to determine the weighting of these areas yourself.

The program typically concludes in the fourth semester with a Master’s thesis, which you complete under the supervision of an advisor of your choice.

The Master’s program in Mathematics is an international degree course — all classes in the M.Sc. Mathematics are taught in English.

The Master’s program in Mathematics has no admission restrictions. Enrollment is handled centrally through the University of Greifswald’s GrypsOn-Portal.
